3.1.1
Social Media Sites
First and
foremost, we have decided to use Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Blogger as our
social media sites. Since they are free of charge, it makes them cost effective
to implement as one of our marketing strategies internally for SLL.

Secondly, based
on StatCounter Global Stats, the top 3 Social Media Sites in Singapore from
June 2011 to June 2012 are Facebook, YouTube & Twitter.
3.1.1.1
Facebook
Figure 2: Facebook Logo
We
will be creating a fan page for SLL so that when Facebook users “like” that
page, they will be able to receive news and updates regarding the SLL. We will
be including the milestones of the SLL, so that members of the fan page will be
able to get a good overview on any special events & activities and to
follow the progress of the SLL. Furthermore, pictures and videos (see YouTube)
will be uploaded onto the fan page every now and then, so that members will be
updated regularly. With the fan page, discussion can be taken place among
members which creates another platform for efficient communication. Lastly, for
the in-charge of the fan page on Facebook, we will be assigning it to the
secretary or admin of the SLL Club.
3.1.1.2
Twitter
Figure 3: Twitter
We will be
setting up an account for SLL so that when fellow twitter users “follow” the
account, they will be updated constantly with tweets related to the SLL. By
utilizing Twitter, it will enable an effective platform of communication which
aids in advertising for the SLL when tweets are being re-tweeted, as it will
mean that more people are getting to know about SLL. Lastly, for the in-charge
of the account in Twitter, we will be assigning it to the secretary or admin of
the SLL Club.
3.1.1.3 YouTube
Figure 4: YouTube logo
We will be
creating an account so that videos related to SLL can be uploaded. This
platform is effective in conveying messages of SLL to the public as it is a
form of dynamic media, where it will aid in the visualization for the viewers.
For the frequency of the uploading of videos, it will be once every half a
year. This is due to the complexity of video-making, which takes time &
effort to plan, create and edit one. Lastly, for the in-charge of the account
in YouTube, we will be assigning it to members of the SLL Club, who are
well-versed with creating videos.
3.1.1.4 Blogger
Figure 5: Blogger logo
We will be
creating a blog for the latest updates on the SLL regularly, and these updates
will mainly be confidential. This blog will be protected with a password, which
means that only authorized members of the SLL can have access to this
information. This will provides an effective alternative for communication as
it is an interactive platform where members can post discussions and comments
on the blog. Lastly, for the in-charge of the blog, we will be assigning it to
the secretary or admin of the SLL Club.
